Mother-daughter talent team to premiere at Sacramento Comicon

Mother-daughter talent team to premiere at Sacramento Comicon
AJ’s Mad Hattery & Rue de la Mort Jewelry Skilled Milliner AJ Pickard and her jewelry-designer daughter Casey Saumure premier their joined Cosplay accessories at Sacramento Comicon.  AJ Pickard began creating high-quality top hats for her church’s Mad Hatter Tea Parties.  Inspired on a trip through New Orleans to create Voodoo, Cosplay, Steampunk, Post-apocalyptic and Halloween-themed mini top hats.  The wild hats were the most popular.  AJ’s daughter, Casey got married in a Virginia City cemetery.  The hunt for Victorian bustle gown and mini top hat inspired her progeny to create what she calls “Jewelry from the dark side.”  Casey Saumure began creating creepy jewelry for fun.  Skeletons, zombies, ouija boards and circus freaks-if it was dark, Casey wanted a piece of it.  The two combined their skills naturally to create fabulous pieces.  After last-years wildly successful Comicon hit Sacramento, her daughter suggested they join forces in Artist’s Alley.  “These aren’t your church hats”, AJ smiles.  “You can’t wear a Ouija board necklace everywhere.”  We like wild.  I knew Comicon would appreciate us.” The mother-daughter team can be found in Artist’s Alley at Comicon Sacramento on June 19-21st at the Sacramento Convention Center.  Look for AJ’s Mad Hatttery and Rue de la Mort Jewelry.  AJ’s Mad Hattery can be reached at (808)291-3266.  Online at ajsmadhattery.wordpress.com.  Her daughter Casey Saumure can be reached at (916)759-7880, or online at ruedelamort.com.   See you at Comicon!
